on Plant Metabolomics

The interdisciplinary Centre for Organismal Studies (COS) Heidelberg has established a metabolomics core facility that is equipped with state-of-the-art mass spectrometry instruments. The facility is part of the mass spectrometry association at the Heidelberg Life Sciences campus.
Funds for five years for personal and equipment are available from the German Excellence Initiative. Experience with mass spectrometry of small molecules and bioinformatics analysis tools are expected. Tasks of the post-doctoral researcher include development of new approaches towards higher resolution in metabolite analysis, support with experimental set-up and bioinformatics data mining with users. Payment will be according to German TV-L13 (fulltime).
The metabolomics facility is embedded in the Department of Molecular Biology of Plants at COS. The position shares research interests with the programme on metabolic and developmental processes and is linked to the junior groups and departments of COS.
